Friday October 12, 2012 - Webuye MP Alfred Sambu’s defection from
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to United Democratic Forum has elicited mixed
reactions among his supporters from Bungoma County.
Sambu who was ODM’s Western
Province Vice Chairman ditched to Mudavadi’s UDF on Wednesday where he accused
the ODM leadership of unending controversy and lack of internal democracy.
Many of Sambu supporters
have vowed to remain in ODM, saying they will support Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s
presidential bid.
Webuye
Mayor Ali Machani,who has been a close ally of Mr Sambu termed the
decision as” personal and selfish” adding
that he did not consult his supporters in the constituency.
