Kenya's Deputy Prime Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta has formally ditched the party of independence KANU, by launching The National Alliance (TNA) party thereby ending weeks of anxiety on his preferred political vehicle, ahead of the forthcoming country's presidential contest.

This is certainly a tumultuous entry to the expanding scene of political parties in Kenya and many other African countries experiencing "expansion of political freedom, freedom of expression and a struggle for real democracy".

At a the official launch marked with glitz, glamour via latest technology including live satellite relays under the watchful gaze of the giant monument of his father on Sunday afternoon at the Kenyatta International Conference Center, Uhuru said, time has come for Kenyans to vote for leaders from political parties that are issue based, with ideologies that will transform the country. Uhuru also urged the youth to take over leadership roles in the country in the coming general election.

He said the new party will strive to conduct the country's politics differently, with people empowerment at the heart of his presidential bid.

The Gatundu South lawmaker promised an accountable Government that will provide a platform for the youth, who make up the bulk of the Country's population to, amongst other things, derive a livelihood from their talents.

The Deputy Prime Minister sidestepped the woes he faces before the International Criminal Court, but called for de-tribalised politics and a peaceful Electoral process as the Kenyan electorate goes to the polls, in the first General Election, under The New Constitution.

Uhuru Kenyatta officially unveiled a party that he will use in his quest to be president of republic of Kenya. The national alliance abbreviated, as TNA will be Kenyatta's party to state house.
